Hacienda Barú is a privat managed wildlife refuge with more than 750 acres and offers the following tours:
- Tree Climbing Tour: Scale up a rope that is fixed in the largest upper
branches of a rainforest tree with specialized equipment (approx. 82 feet). Time: 3 hours
- Canopy Exploration Tour: Canopy Tour "Flight of the Tucan"
with 8 different cable rides, 14 land based platforms and one tree platform with views of the coast.
Time: 2-3 hours, 35 USD per person.
- The Bird Watching Tower and Lowland/Rainforest Birding Hikes
Furthermore there are 7 km of beautiful rainforest trails and a butterfly garden.
